“Parking Sucks!” – Tweets and gripes from the parking lots
Semester after semester, Citrus College students struggle to find space to park their cars. The parking lot has evolved from rather a simple space to a battle field where students hunt vigorously to stake a spot for the day.
The people have spoken and it seems that we all agree — PARKING SUCKS.
Unfortunately though, this is all the parking we have for now but hopefully not forever. All we can do is power through it so let LOGOS introduce you to a few tips that can help ease the parking pain:
SHOW UP EARLY
The early bird gets the worm and in this case, the parking space. Being early is also important because you don’t want to accidentally be late for class just because it took you so long to find parking.
SAVAGE MODE
I also like to refer to this as the “stalker tactic.” This method involves scoping out people or “stalking” them as they walk to their car in order to scoop up their spot once they leave. From personal experience, this tactic works great but is very timely. You have to know when the previous block of classes releases in order to show up at that golden time slot when people are walking back to their cars.
SIT AND WAIT
Once you’ve found a spot, secure it and don’t leave! Even if that means you have to sit and wait in your car until your next class. If waiting in your car doesn’t sound appealing, you can always do homework at the library or get a bite to eat at the Owl Cafe. However, my personal recommendation is taking a nap in your car before your next class.
PARK OFF CAMPUS
Okay maybe, but not really. You don’t want to risk getting your car towed or receiving a pricy parking ticket from the city!

As the next couple of weeks go by, parking will get a bit easier so don’t worry too much. However if you still find yourself completely irritated with the process of parking, then maybe explore public transportation options in order to avoid the parking lot.
Let us know how you find parking at Citrus or how you would like the parking process to change in the future.
