Caltrans closing 210 East for 34 hours this weekend
Caltrans will be closing down part of the eastbound 210 Freeway in Pasadena between Mountain Street and Lake Avenue for 34 hours this weekend. All lanes will be fully closed, as well as the eastbound 210 connector to the 134 westbound, beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday and ends at 5 a.m. Monday.
The freeway closure is part of a $148.5 million pavement project that began in April 2015 as an effort to improve traffic operations, provide a smoother ride for motorists and extend the life of the pavement by an additional 40 years. It will also minimize the number of future maintenance-related closures. The project has mainly focused on a 9.7 mile stretch on both sides of the I-210 Freeway in Glendale, La Canada Flintridge and Pasadena.
Caltrans has advised people to take public transportation, It was initially stated to be finished in 2018 but is now expected to be done by early 2019.
