ICYMI: The 2016 VMA’s
In case you missed it, the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards happened in New York City Sunday night and there were iconic moments created by today’s iconic names.
The peak of the night was Beyoncé taking the world by surprise with her sixteen minute long performance on the VMA stage in Madison Square Garden, which at some point involved her smashing a VMA’s recording camera. If you follow Beyoncé’s “LEMONADE” tour, then you have a visual.
Within seconds, it was trending all over the social media universe.
Her performance, which was basically an impressive mashup of the entire “LEMONADE” album, incorporated many appreciated elements of feminisim, multiple wardrobe changes, and added to her reputation as a hard-working and admired performer.

She followed up by accepting eight total awards for the album, including her award for “Formation” which titled Video of the Year.
Beyonce now holds the record for winning the most MTV Video Music Awards of all time, which is 22, passing by Madonna who has received 20 of the little moonmen.
Another notable performer of her multiple hit singles such as “Stay”, “Rude Boy” and “Work” was Rihanna , who doubled as the host of the award show and has been nothing but successful with her 2016 “ANTI” world tour.

On a related note, Drake unexpectedly confessed his precious love for Rihanna as he presented her with the Vanguard Video award, claiming to have fallen for her when he was twenty two years old.
A wider variety of celebrity names such as Nick Jonas, Britney Spears, G-Eazy, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj also enthusiastically performed their hits during the program on Sunday night.
And of little surprise, there was Kanye West who approached the stage with his words of wisdom about fame and fortune for us all.
As most award shows go, The 2016 Video Music Awards and it’s glorious moments are recap worthy, with six and a half million viewers tuning in to the original MTV event on Sunday night while simultaneously tweeting reactions to every appearance of a famous face(s).
